Terms of Service
Last updated Jul 11, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the zylio website and the software we make available through it. By using the site or downloading our software, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.
About zylio
zylio is an independent software studio. We publish games and high-performance tools for download, write about how we build them, and take on select custom-software work. Access to the site and to our published releases is provided free of charge unless a specific release states otherwise.
Using the software
Software you download is licensed, not sold. Your use of each release is governed by our Licenses page and by any licence or terms bundled with that specific release. Where a release includes its own licence, that licence prevails for that release.
Acceptable use
When using the site and our software, you agree not to:
- use them for anything unlawful, or in violation of anyone's rights;
- redistribute, resell, or repackage our software as your own, or strip out copyright and licence notices;
- upload malware, attempt to breach or overload the site, probe it for vulnerabilities without permission, or scrape it in a way that disrupts service;
- misrepresent your identity or impersonate zylio.
We may suspend or block access that breaks these rules or threatens the site or other users.
Custom-software requests
You're welcome to send us custom-software ideas through the contact form. A request, and our reply to it, are enquiries — they don't by themselves create a binding contract. Any engagement we take on is governed by a separate written agreement that sets out scope, price, timeline, and how ownership and licensing of the delivered work are handled. Please don't send confidential information through the public contact form.
Intellectual property
The zylio name, logo, site design, and written content are owned by zylio and protected by intellectual-property law. "Source-available" means you may read and, where a licence permits, build on our code — it does not transfer ownership or grant you our brand. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
Your submissions
When you send us a message, review, or other content, you confirm it's yours to send and grant us permission to use it as needed to respond to you, operate the site, and moderate content. We may remove content that is unlawful, abusive, or spam.
Third-party links and components
The site may link to third-party websites, and our software may include third-party or open-source components under their own licences. We're not responsible for third-party sites, and your use of third-party components is subject to their terms.
Disclaimers
The site and the software are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. We work hard to make our software fast and reliable, but we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or suitable for every system.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, zylio will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or hardware, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the site or the software. Always keep backups and download only from official zylio sources.
Termination
You can stop using the site at any time. We may suspend or discontinue any part of the site or a release at any time. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — such as intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability — will continue to apply.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which the studio operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here removes any consumer rights you have that cannot be waived under your local law.
